Karate Canines and Cancer Benefit
The Inaugural Karate Canines and Cancer Benefit was held for the first time in June of 2024. This event was inspired by our close friend, Tina Honkus. She was the founder of the Wings of Hope Cancer Benefit, who lost her battle in the spring of 2025. The inaugural Wings of Hope event started in 2008, and Team MMA performed a demonstration as part of the day's events. Master Miller and his team decided they wanted to do more, so since then, they have raised over $30,470.19 and are still counting. This all began as a simple shirt and change challenge with the students. In the spring of 2023, Tina announced that it was the last Wings of Hope event. The Team at Miller's Martial Arts sprang into action because they didn't want it to end. This is when the block party benefit was born. The community embraced the event with open arms. We will continue to expand, kick cancer, and donate to the Humane Society. Since 2024, Team MMA has donated $750 and a truck-bed of various supplies to the Humane Society. This is done through generous donations, shirt and mug sales, auctions, food sales, basket parties, and so much more. Find out how you can help by reaching out to Team MMA.
